Behind Sensing
JP / EN

We live surrounded by invisible sensing.

When you hear the word “sensing,” you might picture using a ruler to check length or a scale to weigh some mass.

But in today’s society, the air we breathe, the light around us, temperature, and even human movement are being sensed—quietly, constantly, and often without us noticing. A baby can play safely in a diaper. Bread can come out of the oven with a consistently delicious finish. Offices can stay comfortable so we can work productively.

All of this is made possible by sensing. Yet because it happens behind the scenes, we rarely notice it.

The Behind Sensing Exhibition hosted by Azbil, shines a light on these technologies that blend seamlessly into everyday life— offering new discoveries and revealing new insights that may change how you experience the everyday world.

EXHIBIT DESCRIPTION

This exhibition explores the theme of “invisible sensing” embedded in everyday life, creating an experience that immerses visitors in its presence across the entire space.

In the mirrored-sphere installation, the “invisible sensing” surrounding us is visualized through shifting light and reflections. Alongside this, a showcase of advanced sensing technologies reveals how these unseen systems support daily life—from safety and comfort to quality and efficiency.
