- Making Workplaces and Employees Healthy, Happy, and Lively -

TOKYO, Aug. 30, 2019: Azbil Corporation (Tokyo Stock Exchange Code: 6845) announced the azbil Group’s “Health and Well-being Declaration” in July 2019 to further accelerate the Group’s efforts in advancing health and productivity management.

The following is an excerpt from the azbil Group’s Health and Well-being Declaration.
We declare our intention that companies and employees proactively work together to create a comfortable work environment, to enhance the mental and physical health of employees, and to make workplaces and employees healthy, happy, and lively.

Since 2005, Azbil has been undertaking employee health management in earnest through initiatives such as the following.

  • Ensuring occupational safety measures are thoroughly implemented
  • Enhancing its occupational health system
  • Expanding women’s health exams to allow a wider range of ages
  • Implementing checkups to determine stomach cancer risk
  • Combatting lifestyle diseases by informing employees of the sugar and sodium content in food from vending machines and cafeterias
  • Enabling self-assessment of physical fitness

Because Azbil sees work hours and the working environment as important factors impacting physical and mental well-being, it has been endeavoring to reduce overtime hours, gauge employee satisfaction, perform surveys on employee stress, and eliminate harassment, as well as other activities.

In FY2018, Azbil introduced new HR-related measures that address work-life balance, employee development, diversity and inclusion, and increasing job satisfaction. Then in FY2019, it further advanced those measures and established an external consultation service that can be used by not only employees but also those who are concerned about those employees’ well-being, including family members, supervisors, and fellow co-workers.

The Health and Well-being Declaration reaffirms the azbil Group’s commitment to further spreading such initiatives throughout the Group, continuing to support employees’ physical and mental well-being, and proactively striving to bring happiness to employees. In fact, such initiatives contributed to Azbil being certified as a “White 500” enterprise for the second consecutive year in 2019 by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry in their Certified Health and Productivity Management Organization Recognition Program. The certification carries with it the recognition that Azbil practices outstanding health and productivity management

Moving forward, the azbil Group will continue ahead with human-centered health and well-being management , supporting employees’ health and happiness, and fulfilling its social responsibilities as a sound corporate organization.
