“White 500” Health and Productivity Management Organization

Guided by its philosophy of “human-centered automation,” the azbil Group announced its Health and Well-being Declaration*1 in July 2019, striving to make workplaces and employees healthy, happy, and lively.

Because Azbil sees work hours and the working environment as important factors impacting physical and mental well-being, it has been endeavoring to reduce overtime hours, perform surveys on employee satisfaction, stress and CSR awareness, and incorporate those survey results in future initiatives. By repeating this cycle, Azbil has focused on improving employee health and well-being.

Azbil has introduced numerous initiatives aimed at maintaining and improving employee safety and health. Naturally, it ensures that employee health management and occupational safety are thoroughly implemented, but the Company also has also been undertaking measures such as the following.

  • Enhancing its occupational health system
  • Expanding women’s health exams to allow a wider range of ages
  • Implementing checkups to determine stomach cancer risk
  • Combatting lifestyle diseases by informing employees of the sugar and sodium content in food from vending machines and cafeterias, offering more sugarless drinks, and reducing sodium in certain foods
  • Enabling self-assessment of physical fitness

Also, starting in 2019, Azbil introduced a brief break twice a day in which all employees company-wide perform a short exercise to rejuvenate the mind and body.

In FY2018, Azbil introduced new HR-related measures that address work-life balance, employee development, diversity and inclusion, and increasing job satisfaction. Then in FY2019, it further advanced health and well-being management and established an external consultation service that can be used by not only employees but also those who are concerned about those employees’ well-being, including family members, supervisors, and fellow-co-workers.

Moving forward, the azbil Group will continue ahead with human-centered health and well-being management, supporting employees’ health and happiness, and fulfilling its social responsibilities as a sound corporate organization.
