Azbil Thailand, Celebrating 30 Years in 2025

　　

The azbil Group has been promoting overseas business activities as a key pillar for business growth. As part of this effort, we established our first locally based subsidiaries, Azbil Control Solution (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (then Yamatake Environmental Engineering Co., Ltd.) and Azbil Control Instruments (Dalian) Co., Ltd. (then Dalian Yamatake Control Instruments Co., Ltd.) in China in 1994, followed by Shanghai Azbil Automation Co., Ltd. (then Shanghai Yamatake Jinshan Control Instruments Co., Ltd.) in 1995 and Azbil (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (then Yamatake (Thailand) Co., Ltd.) in Thailand, each of which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. This time, we will introduce our Thai subsidiary.

Azbil Thailand is headquartered in the capital city of Bangkok and has branches in Rayong and Chonburi provinces, located in the Eastern Economic Corridor*1 area, which the Thai government is developing to enhance the country’s industrial structure. Primarily, it engages in the sale of products related to industry and buildings, as well as engineering, construction, and maintenance services within Thailand, thereby supporting local and Japanese corporate clients.

A notable feature of Azbil Thailand is that it has the largest valve maintenance center among the azbil Group’s seven local subsidiaries in six ASEAN countries: Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia. For over 15 years, this center has been supporting the stable operation of customers’ plants by accepting valves, regardless of whether they are manufactured by Azbil or other companies, and performing maintenance such as disassembly and servicing during regular inspections.

A base for entering the global market, starting with Asia

Azbil Thailand’s valve maintenance center was revamped in 2019, becoming the Solution and Technology Center, in response to aging facilities and to offer smart industrial safety*2 adapted to recent digital transformation (DX)*3 developments to customers in the ASEAN region. Positioned as a key technology base for the ASEAN region, the center offers services such as valve condition monitoring using Azbil’s control valve maintenance support system, PLUG-IN Valstaff. It also focuses on human resource development by transferring valve maintenance technologies, cultivated in Japan, to ASEAN engineers.

Additionally, as part of the azbil Group’s management strategies to strengthen its global expansion, in 2013 we established a local subsidiary, Azbil Production (Thailand) Co., Ltd., to ensure a smooth supply of products to countries in Southeast Asia and East Asia. In 2024, anticipating future expansion of overseas business, a new factory building was constructed. While producing control equipment such as temperature regulators and air conditioning controllers, the company is promoting the introduction of automation equipment to further strengthen its production capacity and expand its range of production items.
