Azbil Invests in MetaProp’s US Venture Fund, Aiming to Expand BA Business Scope and Acquire New Technologies
TOKYO, March 17, 2025: Azbil Corporation (Head Office: 2-7-3 Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Kiyohiro Yamamoto) announces that it has concluded a capital investment agreement with MetaProp (Head Office: New York, NY, USA; General Partners: Aaron Block, Zach Aarons, Zak Schwarzman) to invest in the MetaProp Ventures IV fund (hereafter, “the Fund”) that is managed and operated by MetaProp.
This Fund invests in the property technology (PropTech) sector in the US and Japan. By investing in the Fund, we will be able to acquire information of use to our Building Automation (BA) business regarding markets and innovative technologies. And through forming relationships with the companies the Fund invests in, we also aim to strengthen our business foundation and expand our business domain.
MetaProp is also actively developing programs for the companies that invest in this Fund, known as limited partners (LPs). By participating in such programs, as well as tracking the latest technological trends in the BA business domain and strengthening product competitiveness, we will actively engage in improving job execution productivity—especially for the domestic property market—and in creating new added value in the office market, looking to collaborate not only with the start-ups the Fund invests in, but also with other LPs.
Guided by the philosophy of “human-centered automation,” the azbil Group makes contributions that lead “in series” to a sustainable society, thus ensuring its own medium- to long-term development, while aiming to continuously improve enterprise value.
