Azbil Named to CDP’s 2025 “A List” for Climate Change
TOKYO, April 28, 2026:Azbil Corporation (Tokyo Stock Exchange Code: 6845) announces that the company was awarded an A rating—the highest possible score—by CDP, a global environmental non-profit organization, in recognition of the azbil Group’s initiatives on climate change and associated information disclosure. This marks the fourth time that the company has been selected to the A List in the area of climate change. In addition, the company maintained an A- rating in the area of water security.
CDP evaluates companies regarding climate change, water security and forest conservation, based on their disclosure quality, risk awareness, environmental management and evidence of best practice, assigning scores ranging from A to D-. In 2025, approximately 22,100 major companies worldwide responded to CDP’s questionnaire. Of these, 793 companies were selected for the A List in the area of climate change, including 222 companies based in Japan, one of which was Azbil.
Based on the Group philosophy of “human-centered automation”, the azbil Group strives—through business expansion—to contribute “in series” to the achievement of a sustainable society. In this way we aim to continuously improve enterprise value, endeavoring to realize the well-being of society as well as our employees. The activities and evaluation conducted by CDP are well aligned with this philosophy and approach. We recognize addressing climate change as one of our key management issues, and are advancing initiatives to (1) reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions throughout the value chain, and (2) reduce CO2 emissions at our customers’ sites.
As regards the reduction of GHG emissions throughout the value chain, we have set a target of achieving net zero GHG emissions throughout the value chain (Scope*1 1, 2, and 3). We have also set our near-term targets by FY2030 to reduce GHG emissions from our business activities (Scope 1 and 2) and GHG emissions across the entire supply chain (Scope 3). These targets have received validation from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)*2.
The reduction of CO2 emissions at our customers’ sites is an initiative unique to the azbil Group that contributes to reduce CO2 emissions at various customers’ sites—such as at large-scale buildings, factories, and plants—through the provision of automation-related products, services, and solutions.
To address water security, we are continuously striving to reduce water usage. Moreover, as an aspect of business continuity planning, we identify business sites with heightened water risk and implement appropriate measures. Moreover, we are engaged in strengthening collaboration with various stakeholders including local governments as well as enhancing quality and transparency of information disclosure.
The azbil Group continues to strengthen its sustainability management for making contributions that lead “in series” to a sustainable society.
