Promotion of Risk Assessments

A risk assessment is conducted when any of the following applies.

  1. When construction, relocation, alteration or demolition
  2. When handling or changing raw materials, etc.
  3. When installing or changing equipment
  4. When a new work method or work procedure is established or changed
  5. When an occupational accident
  6. When the potential for danger or harm will change or is likely to change.
  7. When the work is not normal
  8. When the risk must be improved by patrol, etc.
  9. When the applicable law is amended;
  10. Others

After the risk assessment, the following measures are taken in order.

(1) Implementation of matters stipulated by laws etc.
(2) Consideration of essential measures Elimination of dangerous work
Change a work procesute
Substitution with not dangerous or harmful materials, etc.
(3) Consideration of engineering measures Use of guards, interlocks, safety devices, local ventilation systems, safety blocks, etc.
(4) Consideration of administrative measures Preparation of manuals, measures to prohibit entry, exposure control, trainings, operation of alarms, use of signs, increase of work personnel, health management, etc.
(5) Consideration of personal protective equipment Use of goggles or safety masks etc.
